Art of the Possible

I saw this on another blog and thought it was well worth noting, so I decided to put it up here. There is a power of stories and myths which we have largely forgotten. I would rather there be the magic of truth than the gloss of effects.

Brotherly Love

Here is a line a read recently in The Long Loneliness, an autobiography on the life of Dorothy Day which I am writing a paper on for my religion class. I thought I'd share this for now but more might be on the way.

"We cannot love God unless we love each other, and to love we must know each other. We know Him in the breaking of bread and we know each other in the breaking of bread, and we are not alone any more. Heaven is a banquet and life is a banquet, too, even with a crust, where there is companionship. We have all known the long loneliness and we have learned that the only solution is love and that love comes with community."

I believe I'm discovering more and more what this means, and what it looks like.
